17.12.09 e.g.etal directors dedication award and e.g.etal artists blog Many years ago when I first attempted to sell jewellery there were very few retailers in Melbourne who had the courage to take on jewellery that wasn't an accessory but small pieces of wearable art. The gallery e.g.etal opened ten years ago with the intention of selling creative hand made jewellery from Australia, which has since extended to New Zealand artists. I was very lucky (as they were brave) to be one of the first number of local artists asked to stock their small store in Little Collins St. Over ten years, e.g.etal has nurtured the careers of many artists and craftspeople, and exposed buyers to fantastic local design and away from large International brands. The gallery has risen to become the pivotal retailer of contemporary Australian and New Zealand jewellery. I was very honoured along with three other jewellers who I greatly admire to be recently given by the director Emma Goodsir, the 'Directors decade of achievement award'. The gallery is now located in the basement of 167 Flinders Lane and I highly recommend a visit whether you just want to press your nose up at the glass to admire or if you're looking for something special and unique to buy for yourself or for someone you love.
I was delighted to be the first on the new artist interview blog through my long-standing and loyal retailer in Melbourne, e.g.etal http://www.egetal.com.au/blog/. The interviewed was conducted by the very gorgeous Lucy Fagen of www.thedesignfiles.net fame, who through sheer dedication, enthusiasm and very good style has single handily developed an online design hub for Melbourne. She was such a delight to meet and I wish her every success where ever design files takes her.
08.12.09 website launch The launch was a lovely celebration for all those who worked with us on the website, the designers LangdonLorraine, Nik of CBDweb and photgraphers Travis de Clifford for the jewellery shoots and Alex Craig for the backgrounds of the web pages. We would also like to thanks Natasha Honsy for the cloud dishes and the staff at Horse Bazaar for their hospitality, projection mastery and constant flow of champagne. Clients and friends were the first to view the site live, projected on the walls of the venue. It was very exciting for Camilla and I, this is how happy we were at the Shanghai Dumpling House afterwards.

28.11.09 The first of the 'one of' series I am curating in the hallway of my building took place on Saturday night. I was very honoured to have my friend Gabrielle New a Butoh dancer choreograph a dance especially for the space. She performed the striking and haunting piece with Gretel Taylor, the lighting designed by Paula van Beek and sound design by Norman Skipp.
